A WORLDWIDE CONSTELLATION.
CREATED TOGETHER
About the Series
The Perennials are a limited series of 100 site-specific, solar-powered sculptural landmarks forming one interconnected artwork across the world.
Each is individually commissioned for its place, yet remains part of a living global constellation connecting communities, cultures and environments across borders.
The Perennials prototype at Little Tree Art Studios.
Avondale Estates, Georgia.
Origins of the Series
The Perennials were born from resilience in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, rooted in an effort to bring solar-powered generators to Puerto Rico.
From that experience emerged an artistic vision that has evolved beyond the island, exploring universal themes of diaspora, energy independence, sustainability, solidarity, and the enduring human capacity to adapt and regenerate.
Inspired by windborne seeds, each one-of-a-kind, self-sustaining, generous sculpture carries its own story, taking root in a new place while remaining part of a worldwide constellation of interconnected art.
Together, these one hundred works transcend borders, uniting distinct communities and cultures within one collective work of art.
ART THAT GIVES BACK
Each Perennial is a site-specific, hand-painted artwork rooted in sustainability and service, crafted from recycled plastics, powered by the sun, and sharing renewable energy with its community.

Prince George's County, Maryland.
Commissioned by Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council (PGAHC) in partnership with WMATA Metro Art in Transit.
AT ONCE. AS ONE.
Each Perennial is a self-sustaining, solar-powered sculpture combining light, wireless charging, and technology to create a connected network across distances.
Visitors can send a signal through the network, activating Perennials across distant locations and bringing the distributed artwork together in a shared moment

A Living Constellation
The Perennials will ultimately bring together 100 site-specific sculptures, each shaped by the place and community where it takes root.
With every new Perennial, another story, landscape, and community becomes part of the larger artwork, bringing the full realization of this ambitious work closer.
For institutions, curators, public art programs, and communities interested in exploring a future Perennial, conversations are welcome.
